The term hysteria is derived from the word hystera, which translates from Greek to womb or uterus. HYSTERA draws on Hippocrates' theory of the wandering womb and explores the visceral reality of endometriosis through the lens of ancient medical myth, female embodiment and personal narrative. The work invites viewers into a raw and deeply intimate landscape of female vulnerability, suffering and resilience.
